What is Educational Guidance?

One to one meetings or group workshops allow participants the opportunity to explore study options in Further or Higher Education in Scotland.

Educational Guidance allows participants the opportunity to:

• Identify personal qualities, achievement and skills
• Reflect on career goals
• Identify potential barriers to learning
• Explore ways to overcome difficulties
• Learn how to research course availability
• Understand qualifications and progression routes
• Understand the College & University (UCAS) recruitment processes
• Prepare course applications
• Prepare for interviews
• Develop presentation skills
• To make your own informed decisions
• To reflect on performance & celebrate success

Sources of further information & advice relating to career & course choice, student funding, additional support needs, accommodation & childcare may be provided depending upon your individual circumstances. These services may be of particular interest to private education providers and International students & agents seeking independent educational advice & guidance.
 

Are Employability Skills sessions for me?

One to one employability skills meetings or group workshops may allow participants the opportunity to:

• Identify personal qualities and skills valued by employers
• Learn how to source vacancies & approach employers
• Analyse job advertisements & post descriptions
• Understand the recruitment process
• Prepare a CV, develop a portfolio or complete job applications
• Prepare for interviews & assessment centres
• Develop presentation skills
• To reflect on performance & celebrate success

Sources of further information & advice relating to employability may be provided depending upon your individual circumstances. These services may be of particular interest to individuals with little or no experience of looking for work or to people who lack confidence in interview situations.

Group workshops can be delivered to support projects within an Educational, Social Care or Community Initiative environments on request.
